In the Zen sect, the dragon is considered a protector of Buddhism.
In this ceiling painting of Kennin-ji ,a temple in Kyoto,
one dragon opens its mouth (“a” in Sanskrit) and the other shuts(“hum” in Sanskrit).
“A” is the meaning of breathing out, “hum” means breathing in,
“A-hum” describes the beginning and the end of the universe.
